The program takes place concurrently with the CCSJ Food Pantry at Christ Church St. James every second Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and on the last two Wednesdays of the month from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Get Reading Program invest in the future of young great minds by providing access to reading materials and hosting great events to provoke creativity and learning. We give away 40 + books free of cost back to the community during the CCSJ FOOD PANTRY. Kids are delighted to take a book and reading materials home to enjoy. We are asking for your assistance to help us continue this mission by replenishing our library of books. Donate your new and used books today.
Without this service, money for books would be hard to find in the family budget. The service helps our clients in other ways too. It becomes a sharing and learning experience between child and parent. It widens their understanding of life in Canada. Reading is an important skill for children to learn, as it opens a world of knowledge and discovery that can be used to enrich their lives.
** HOST A BOOK DRIVE ** Many of our supporters are part of organizations that are just excited about investing in the literacy success of the next generation. To support this cause we welcome those who are interested in hosting a BOOK DRIVE and extend this opportunity to learn more about The Get Reading Program to those who are passionate about this cause.
